Is Apple Pay Coming To Walgreens? A Leaked Memo Answers Yes

Security and privacy is at the core of Apple Pay. When you’re using Apple Pay in a store, restaurant or other merchant, cashiers will no longer see your name, credit card number or security code, helping to reduce the potential for fraud,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “Apple doesn’t collect your purchase history, so we don’t know what you bought, where you bought it or how much you paid for it. And if your iPhone is lost or stolen, you can use Find My iPhone to quickly suspend payments from that device.”

Wallgreens Apple Pay launch on Saturday appears unusual as weekends are the busiest day of the week for retailers which might create a major issue if the payment systems go down. But Apple pay that is meant basically for in-store shopping might provide the customers to give a try. The largest pharmacy chain in the U.S., Apple’s major launch partner Walgreen, promises it to be the easiest, fastest, and most secure payment method you’ve used to date. The company operates more than 8,000 stores in all 50 states.

Apple has already confirmed the support of McDonald’s, Staples, Macy’s, and other big names for Apple Pay.

If you own iPhone 6 and 6 Plus you will just require Apple’s upcoming iOS 8.1 update to use Apple Pay.
